Join Us in Congratulating Wilson Eshbach on his Retirement from a Landmark Career in the Family Business
At the end of 2022, Wilson Eshbach retired from his role as Managing Partner of Eshbach Brothers. The bricklayers, laborers, office team, and his business partners are grateful for his generation of expertise.
Wilson got his start painting scaffold bucks for his “dear ole dad” over summer breaks in high school. Later, he apprenticed as a Bricklayer and become a journeyman with the company. As the construction business grew, Wilson joined the office team and served for over a decade as the senior managing partner.
In his retirement, we offer our warmest wishes and hope that Wilson may finally enjoy a few vacations – as he did back in 1963 at his Uncle Carl’s cabin on the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Over 100 Years of Award Winning Work
As a locally owned family business operating since 1913, Eshbach Brothers Masonry Contractors is dedicated to the Eastern Pennsylvania community and leads projects that make the economy stronger, strengthen our schools, and improve local neighborhoods. The company was founded as a partnership by brothers, Wilson, Morris, Irvin, and Addison in the City of Reading, Pennsylvania and focused on residential construction before expanding to commercial projects in the late 1920s.
By 1932, Irvin Eshbach had passed-away and Addison had withdrawn from the partnership. This left Wilson and Morris as the two remaining partners. Led by these two brothers, Eshbach Masonry sustained itself through the difficult years of the depression. In 1945, Morris retired from the business and in 1946, Wilson passed-away. Later in 1946, Eshbach Brothers was incorporated by Wilson’s five sons, Kenneth, Elwood, Clifton, William, and Robert. Collectively, they successfully operated the masonry company, expanding the company to build major projects throughout the Schuylkill and Lehigh Valleys in the postwar era.
Along with their private enterprise, members of the Eshbach family were instrumental in organizing the regional construction industry to be an anchor for economic growth and served as the strongest advocates for masonry construction in the area. Kenneth Eshbach, who trained as a civil engineer at Cornell University, served for many years as the Secretary and later a Trustee of the Berks County Masonry Contractors Association. Kenneth’s sons Wilson and Greg also joined the company along with Robert’s son James. While Elwood, Clifton, William, Kenneth, and Robert have since passed-away, James has retired, and Greg has moved on to a separate tile business; Eshbach Brothers continues to be a regional industry leader. On June 1, 2000, Eshbach Brothers Inc. reorganized as a limited partnership and now operates under the leadership of Wilson Eshbach as Eshbach Brothers, L.P.
The company currently specializes in both public and commercial construction and restoration, and has completed major revitalization projects in Allentown and Reading. In 2001, the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal highlighted the company’s dedication to the community, discussing that when Pagoda-Skyline Inc. began plans to restore the Works Progress Administration era William Penn Memorial Fire Tower, Eshbach Brothers joined their efforts and performed repairs to the tower’s 120-foot-high exterior perched above Reading on Mount Penn. Eshbach Brothers also restored the historic Dime Bank building as part of the ongoing economic redevelopment efforts in downtown Allentown. Alvin H. Butz, Inc. presented Eshbach Brothers their 2014 Subcontractor of the Year award for work performed on various jobs throughout the Lehigh Valley.
